I took this on my recent trip to Yellowstone National Park. It was late in the afternoon. What attracted me to the scene were the shadows the trees made and the downed tree in the foreground.. I took the picture handheld, 1/200 of a second, F9 @27mm.
really like the shadows, gives a very nice depth to the entire picture
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Nice shadows. I inadvertently cropped your photo with my computer scrolling and thought it was pretty cool cutting off the top of the picture just over the top of the background mountains. Thought it drew my eye even more to the black and white contrast at the bottom of the trees and then out with the shadows. The bright sky tends to draw my eye away from the coolest part of the photo. Try it and see what you think.
ReplyDeleteLove the light in this image and the subsequent lines, contrast and textures of the shadows. Do you think the image would have a deeper sense of space if the diagonal log was not in the foreground creating a visual stop?
