Waterscape/Soundscape--Boston Harbor Marina
Shot on the outing with just my 16-85 wide angle lens on Sunday about sunset. Shot at 22mm, f/4 1/20 sec. ISO 400. My old Nikon D50 doesn't have a tungsten setting, so I played with shutter and ISO to get the deep blue (may be too dark). The WB was set to cloudy. (As a side note, I do not know why my photos upload in such a small size, but clicking on it should enlarge it.)
I went to Boston Harbor because I had not been there in some time and it is one of my favorite places. My husband started the kayak rental/instruction business there years ago and we always enjoyed our many paddles, including at night. As the sun set, I spent about an hour shooting various sail boats, alone against the setting sun, and in pairs or groups, as well as various angles of the docks. I was attracted to this shot because of the curved lines of the boat hulls contrasting with the lines of the masts in the water, the variety of colors of the sails, particularly the red one, and the blue of the still, reflective water. It was peaceful and quiet, except for the occasional gull and boat motor.
I like the way you composed the mast by intentionally cutting them off, then letting the reflection show them in their entirety.
