Melanie - Personal Style

ISO 100, f4.5, 1/80 sec.  I'm not sure if anyone would find this interesting or not, but I was looking for a different angle.  I took a photo of this columbine flower yesterday from the front and from the side and I liked those too, but the back is also unusual and I think it is pretty.  In looking at old photos, I find that I am drawn to closeups, especially if they have vivid colors, interesting shapes, textures, and lines.  The really close macro photography really excites me.  I like seeing what we miss.  The closer up the better.  In high school I took photos through a microscope for a science project and I think that might have been the start of a love affair.  Ha!   (I hope this doesn't sound too sappy, but I have really loved looking at everyone's amazing photos for this class and find that I am so inspired by everyone and I am learning so much.  What a wonderful class we have!  And a great teacher who loves to share her knowledge!  Thanks!)

  1. I like this photo. The colors are very beautiful. I think some petals of the flower are a little overexposed. Did you try multiple exposure or diffuser?

  2. ALWAYS photograph from EVERY angle. It's what moves you from merely 'looking' to finally 'seeing'. An important trait for a photographer. Also continue working with the same idea in a series, until you have exhausted ALL your ideas, and then continue.
