Alice: Landscape - Sunset

1/125, F4.5, ISO100, 18mm, WB: Cloudy.
I wanted to practice sunset photography and composition so I picked up the camera when the sun escaped from the clouds after it stopped raining Friday night.  I had the dogwood in mind but then realized the dogs could be part of the focal points - after I saw them.  The trails of sunlight on the grass added interesting colors - parallel to the shape of the clouds above.

  1. I really like the composition. The clouds give it a very 3D effect. The hint of color from the dogwood is lovely. Really like this a lot.

  2. This is a great shot. I think you captured a rare moment in time. The lighting is terrific and the dogs add a sense of place as well as a bit of mystery. The dog near the trail of sunlight is wonderfully positioned. I assume that you waited for the dog to get there before taking the photo.

  5. Patience pays. The dogs add life to the image. I like how they are spaced to add the depth to the picture. I wonder if you could have encouraged them to interact in some way, and captured the essence of the animals???
