Rick Sandler: World's Worst Photo
I discovered in this exercise that breaking the rules can lead to creative opportunities. This image was taken in my garden. The exposure was set to +2.5 to ensure overexposure and the shutter was set at 1/5 second. I added motion blur by moving the camera. Over the course of 20 shots, I added more motion in different directions because the images were not ugly enough. I began to see the effects of motion blur as a way of shaping an abstract image. This image was post-processed in Lightroom 4 using only standard tools. No heroic manipulation of settings or filters were used.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Svetlana, it's a terrific abstract shot with wonderfully vivid greens. No winner here!
