This is a great choice of subject. There is lots of interesting detail in this image but it cannot be fully appreciated because the image is overexposed and lacks contrast. The angle of the sun does not help here because it does not cast shadows and produces severe highlights that are blown out. Shadows cast by the sun would help bring out more detail and allow the benefits of B&W to be realized. I would suggest "working" an image like this by taking shots from several different perspectives and angles.
